Don't Forget to Change your Oil

We all want to keep our cars running as smoothly as possible. After all, nobody wants their car to suddenly break down on them, and nobody wants to have to pay for costly auto repairs. One of the easiest ways to keep your car running smoothly is by regularly changing the oil. Although it's a small, easy step, regular oil changes greatly extend the life of your engine—and neglecting the oil changes greatly shortens it.

As your car's engine runs, all the pieces start to rub together. This produces friction and heat, and causes the parts to break down. Obviously this is less than ideal, so we put in oil to help the engine out. The oil covers all of the parts, lubricating them and carrying away heat. The heat and friction that would have damaged your engine is now transferred to the oil, and your engine continues to run smoothly.

Of course, nothing lasts forever, and soon the oil begins to break down. Eventually it ceases to be as effective, and it can eventually form a black sludge, clogging parts of your engine. That's why it is important to change the oil regularly, before it has a change to break down. We know that replacing the oil can be a pain, but it's much easier (not to mention cheaper) than replacing the engine. Generally, you should replace your oil every 5,000 miles, or every six months—whichever comes first. However, it's different for different models. If you think you might need to change your oil, or if you can't remember the last time it was changed, don't worry. Just schedule an appointment at our service center, and we'll take care of it for you.
